Kershaw, S.C. (11/5/2025) – Kershaw Area Resource Exchange (KARE) has received a general operations grant from the Sisters of Charity Foundation of South Carolina to further its efforts to help neighbors in need facing financial crisis and hunger. The Foundation awards grants to nonprofits that strive to reduce poverty throughout the state of South Carolina, and KARE is one of 119 organizations funded this fall.
“We are so appreciative of the continued partnership with the Sisters of Charity Foundation. Together, we’re able to reach more people, strengthen our programs, and make a meaningful difference in the lives of those who need it most.” said Olivia Hann, KARE’s Assistant Director and Public Relations manager.
In this cycle of funding, the Sisters of Charity Foundation of South Carolina awarded grants totaling $1,108,000 to nonprofit organizations across the state. The $5000 grant to KARE will allow the organization to continue its efforts to address hunger relief and work with those experiencing a financial crisis.
“At the Sisters of Charity Foundation of South Carolina, we walk alongside individuals and communities experiencing poverty, as well as the nonprofits that support them – working together to find solutions that will benefit everyone,” said Donna Waites, President of the Foundation. “We are grateful to be able to award these grants to organizations that are seeking innovative solutions that build a stronger South Carolina.”
