A  brief   history…

               In October 2014, KARE held the first Dressed to KARE event. It was the brain child of the late Donna Hartley McKittrick, the Executive Director at the time. She loved KARE’s resale store and dreamed of a fashion show to highlight the fashion available at such affordable prices. We recruited volunteers as models, gathered table and event sponsors, put together a silent auction and an event was had. It was great fun and we grew the event holding it annually until 2017. We took 2018 and 2019 off to reimagine the event and re-focus our fundraising efforts, and then COVID caused further challenges. We now intend to focus on two signature events…a Golf Tournament in August and Dressed to KARE in May. The new Dressed to KARE will continue to showcase our store in the Fashion Show portion of the event. It will also now feature a high-quality tea party portion, as well as entertainment. Another new element to the event is the opportunity for our sponsors to participate, wearing company logoed apparel, and they’ll have a moment to speak on stage to promote their business if they desire. It’s not required, but is a great opportunity for advertising in front of a captive audience. We’re excited to bring back this popular event and even more excited to give it some new life. The menu is based off the traditional English tea menu items – complete with sweet and savory items such as cucumber sandwiches, scones, truffles and more. We will continue to have a silent auction with a feminine focus, concentrating on spa items, art, jewelry and more.

Donor Levels: 

$2500 – Gold Sponsor

               Sponsors receive 3 tables* (if desired), logo and business name advertised in pre-event marketing and social media, and on sign at event. Gold sponsor may also allow a model to participate in the show wearing promotional materials. Emcee will share 15 second “blurb” promoting your company or organization. Name & logo will also be featured on event shirt. Company promotional items also will be included in a take home bag for attendees.

$1500 – Silver Sponsor

               Silver Sponsors receive 2 tables* (if desired), name and logo advertised on social media prior to event and on signage at the event. Name & logo will be featured on event shirt. Company promotional items also will be included in a take home bag for attendees.

$500 – Bronze Sponsor

               Bronze Sponsors receive 1 table* (if desired) and name advertised on social media prior to event and on signage at the event. Name will be featured on event shirt.

$250 – Table Sponsor

               Table Sponsors will have 1 table* at the event.

$$$ or Merchandise– silent auction donor

               Our Silent Auction is curated through donations from our fabulous community of individuals and businesses. We need your  help. If you run a business that doesn’t produce/sell material goods, please consider purchasing something from another business to donate to our Silent Auction. You can also provide a monetary donation earmarked for “Silent Auction items” and we will be happy to grab something in your name.

 

* Tables hold 6 guests.

 

We’d love to encourage sponsors to decorate their own tables for the event if you’re interested in doing so. Many will get excited about the tea party idea and create themed tables. This is not a requirement. We’re happy to take care of the decorations if you prefer.

In 2013, the first Dressed to KARE fashion show was held, showcasing the wonderful clothing located in our re-sale store. After a couple of years of taking a break from the event, we were excited about re-imagining  this year's show - complete with a tea party and live music. COVID threw a wrench in planning and we opted to go virtual instead of cancelling.

 

Below is the resulting video and we're thrilled to have something lasting to share with all of you! 

Through our online silent auction and amazing sponsors, we were able to raise over $10,000 in 2020. We are so grateful to our supportive community!

Plans are underway for our 2021 event! Stay tuned.
